Angus Fire commits to sustainable firefighting foam solutions.

Angus Fire, a supplier of fire-fighting foam concentrates, announced in October 2023 that starting from the end of the first quarter in 2024, they will cease the production and supply of foam concentrates containing PFAS.

In recent years, Angus Fire has evaluated alternative and more sustainable (fluorine-free) raw materials that can be used for the development and production of fire-fighting foam with firefighting performance equal to, if not greater than, fluorinated foam.

Changing regulations surrounding the use of fluorinated chemicals, various restrictions by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) to ban the use of PFAS substances, and Angus Fire's current product range of PFAS-free foam products have led the producer to decide to terminate production and supply in 2024.

Angus Fire actively encourages all customers who are not ready yet to make the switch to fluorine-free foam to place orders for fluorinated foam products as soon as possible before the raw materials run out. They have indicated that they have secured a quantity of raw materials and will continue producing fluorinated foam products until March 31, 2024, or until the finite raw material stock is depleted.

We can imagine that Angus Fire's decision does not fully match your plans to switch to fluorine-free fire-fighting foam. PFAS Cleaning & Treatment Solutions is ready to advise and assist you in this transition, ensuring that your license to operate remains unchanged.
